1995 was a key year of things to come. The U S Mint came out with a 5 coin set, 4 Gold Eagle Proofs and one Silver Eagle W Proof. The Silve Eagle Proof was only sold with the sets. Mintage was just over 30,000. Today the 1995 pf 70 W Silver Eagle proof commands a hefty price. Not exactly a starter coin for new investors but good to mention as a comparrison guide with new issues from the U S Mint.
It was an eye opener of what big money demand is out there for collectable coins. Conveniently said it is an Investment. The 2008 W Buffalo Gold Proof and even the ucirculated have enjoyed much of the same success so the 1995 set was not a one time wonder. The trend is in place. Just imagine, a Silver Eagle Proof PF 70 commanding a price of $ 10,000.00 in todays time.
