My approach though is the lower mintage years and in proof form. Demand will continue when they can be in IRA`s. The more purchased by the public availability becomes less. Prices go up with less availability, naturally they will swing a bit with the Silver paper prices but it is preservation. The reason why I like the proof coins is because mintages are usually much lower than bullion and they look much nicer for collectors as an added boost. Just to state again, the 2011 Silver Eagles Reverse Proofs might see higher gains. Here is why ! Availability, as the full sets decline in availability the number of listings for individual reverses will decline also. Pushing the button for higher demand. These full sets could bring higher bidders and if those bidders split the set up natually they will ask more for individual coins they list. Again, Availability and mintage. 2011 was the lowest mintage year. No matter what there will always be collectors and investors. Availability for IRA`s adds to that icing on the cake.
