Added protection for the purchaser of 2013 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins. Below the Maple Leaf is a Laser Etching with the 13 representing the year 2013. This is a nice precaution to distinguish any counterfiting that could occur.
Another note: The 2012 Gold Maple Leaf Proof sets had a mintage of only 750 sets. The 5 coin sets are one of a kind.
Worlds Largest Gold Coin. In 2007 Canada minted the 100 Kilogram Maple Leaf. If that fits your bill ( certainly not mine ) the initial cost was $ 1 Million Dollars. Mintage was very low so good luck finding one.
I stand corrected, in 2011 a 1 Ton Gold Coin was minted !!
