Collecting for fun

Collecting for fun can have it`s rewards, it is profitable too. With coins you can expect their value to keep up with inflation and possibly more depending on selection. Copper penny collections or buying Pre 1982 pennies. There are so many ways to collect dpending on your likes. Building your personal collection should include a variety of coins but mostly you`ll do better if you stay within a perimeter. Formaximum gains try to focus on special events. Anniversaries, events that the crowd will go after. Unusual coins that may be a one time event. 1995 is such a year, the Proof Silver Eagle only could be bought in a Gold Coin Set with a limited mintage. The 2008 W Buffalo Proof 4 coin set, first year of the buffalo fractionals, but the mintage was another key. Both years provided Eye Appeal and sentimental value. The Eagle Proof of immense patriotic value and the Buffalo Proof in celebration of past American history and a Heritage appeal to boot.

Whatever appeal is for you, Uncirculated holds special value with increasing value. Proof is even better whether graded or ungraded. Sentimental value is different though, such as a nice eye appeal coin showing it`s worn history. Coin Albums are fun to fill but you can also buy uncirculated coin albums filled also which is nice to get out on occassions to appreciate. Uncirculated penny albums are a good start.

If getting started when young it will provide you with an avenue of alternative investing with the safest returns in gains. Try not to be an impulsive purchaser though, keep in mind you want your personal wealth to increase as much as possible.
